Transforming the future of my School

Transforming the Future of Rafael Pombo School: Listening to Our Students

Rafael Pombo School, an institution dedicated to offering comprehensive training,
faces the challenge of adapting to the changing needs of its educational
community. Through a recent survey, students’ opinions were collected to identify areas that need improvement. The results offer a clear overview of students’expectations, marking the path towards a transformation that allows the school to be consolidated as a reference in quality education.

Infrastructure: A Space for Improvement, One of the most mentioned aspects in the survey was the perception of the school’s infrastructure.

Although most students awarded an average grade, the results suggest that there is room for improvement in physical spaces to ensure an optimal learning environment. School infrastructure plays a crucial role in academic success, since it has a direct impact on the comfort and well-being of students. Improving facilities could result in a considerable increase in satisfaction and motivation to learn.

New Subjects: Preparing for the 21st Century In a constantly changing world, the demands of the labor market and society are also evolving. 95.9% of respondents expressed interest in the incorporation of new subjects in the curriculum, such as
computer science, sex education and foreign languages (French and Mandarin).
This reflects the desire of students to acquire skills that go beyond traditional
subjects. Meeting this demand will not only enrich the educational offer, but will
also better prepare young people to face the challenges of today’s world.

Services and Welfare: Nursing and Green Spaces The health and well-being of
students are fundamental. Almost 98% of respondents agreed on the need to
improve the nursing area, which shows the importance of having an adequate
space to receive medical care in optimal conditions. A school that takes care of the
health of its students promotes a safe and conducive environment for learning and personal development. Likewise, the creation of more green areas was one of the most supported proposals, with 97.9% approval. Students value these spaces as
recreation areas and as an opportunity to interact and relax during recess. Green
areas not only favor physical and emotional well-being, but also promote creativity
and learning in a natural environment.

Healthy Eating: A Priority Another crucial issue that stood out in the survey was
food. 87.8% of students expressed the need to improve food choices at school.
Today, young people are increasingly aware of the importance of a balanced diet for their academic performance and general well-being. Offering healthy food
options would not only benefit students’ health, but could also be adifferentiating factor that would align the school with current trends towards healthier lifestyles.

Technical Education and Library: Looking to the Future 81.6% of students showed
interest in the possibility of finishing high school with a technical degree, an
initiative that would significantly expand the job opportunities of graduates. This
proposal underlines the ability of Rafael Pombo School to become an institution
that not only provides academic training, but also provides its students with
practical tools for the world of work.

Finally, the creation of a publicly accessible library was supported by 89.8% of
respondents, which demonstrates the importance that students attribute to reading
and access to academic resources that complement their training. A well-equipped
library would be an invaluable resource to promote research and autonomous
learning.

Listening to Students to Improve The analysis of this survey leaves us a clear
message: the Rafael Pombo School has great potential for improvement, and the
opinions of the students are the key to guiding this change. Meeting your needs will
not only increase your satisfaction, but will position the school as a cutting-edge
institution. Infrastructure, welfare services, curricular diversification and food are
priority areas to work on in the short and medium term. If we listen to our students
and act accordingly, Rafael Pombo School will not only improve, but will become
an educational reference, training the leaders of tomorrow.

It’s time to act and transform the school into a place where students’ dreams come
true.
